Verizon Retailers.

Are killing me. I went on Saturday to get a new phone, discovered the Droid Turbo. Of course they only have the 32gb model in stock. I wanted to go to a official store but the closest one is almost 40 min away.

First they try their best to convince me to get the 32 cause it's all I need, even though currently I have about 30 full. After like 10 minutes I got them to accept I wanted 64gb. Of course it's not in high demand so they don't have any in stock. So they had to order it and assured me no other store would have it. They also said it should be in Monday morning, Tuesday morning at the latest.

Yes well now they don't know when or if the shipment is coming today because "they would've come by now." So who knows what this means. Personally I think they just wanted to make the sale that day and don't give a damn about how badly I need a new phone for work.

I feel so stupid. I called the corporate store and they had it in stock. I knew at the time I should've waited one more day and just gone to the store on Sunday. Anyone have any experience ordering through a retailer? I'm wondering how long it should take...

Personally, I either go through a Corporate Store (which we have a great one in our town) or through the website, where you don't have to deal with pushy sales reps.
I would order it through the corporate store, you'll get it within a couple days.
Did the retailer not give you a date to expect it after you ordered it? I would give them a call and cancel the order (if it hasn't shipped yet), then reorder it online, or through the corp store.
Good luck @k1ngr4t!

That's the thing they said it'll probably be Monday morning, but Tuesday latest. Today they said they're not sure if the shipment is coming.

I was wondering about canceling, I didn't know if it was too late. I'm actually going to try that, thanks!

Many times if you order online.. You can get free overnight shipping.. At least I've had good luck with that..

Yeah, was SOL. Once it's shipped you can't cancel it. However at the corporate store I went to they said it should arrive tomorrow. How they can tell that at the corporate and not the retailer store that ordered it.... o_O

Even better, when I called the retailer to ask if I could cancel it, she said she didn't know, she'd have to ask her manager, and he wasn't working that day. She said she'd call him...never heard back. I know this was the girl who rang me up on Saturday, and she was clearly new then, so why she'd be left alone in a new store (1 yr old), without knowing a cancellation policy, is beyond me.

I've always gone to the corporate store, rarely a good experience, then I moved, and I had heard people had better experience with retailers so figured I'd try it out, didn't want to wait. They initially told me it would be overnight and would arrive Monday morning. Had I know it would be Wednesday, I definitely would've ordered online.

Now I did do it through the Verizon edge program. Can you set that up online as well or do you have to pay the contract/retail price?

On Verizon website you can do Edge. Not all 3rd party retailers are able to do Edge on their website, like Costco, for example. I'm sorry you had a negative experience at a retailer. We aren't all bad ☺

Well at least I got it today. I asked him if I could at least open the box while he sets everything up cause I wanted to do my own unboxing. Of course he opens it all up, and pulls it out, making his fingerprint the first smudge on my new phone...oh well, life goes on.

This is the manager that was there when I first went in, and I asked him "so does it normally take a few days for a phone to come in?" "Yeah, it usually does." Um, so why would you tell me on a Saturday afternoon that it will be here Monday morning? Certainly not cause you just wanted to make a sale...

Oh well, I have it now and that's all that matters. Gonna have fun with it tonight. Should I discharge the battery all the way first or just charge it up? I don't follow smartphones like I used to and don't know how much has changed...

I charged my phone up before I did anything, even call Verizon for activation.
My phone came via FedEx in 2 days. Sorry for your troubles. Good luck and have fun with your new BEAST!!!!!!!

I didn't even turn my phone on, I just plugged it into the charger
that I had with my Rzzr Maxx. Came out of the box with 60%
battery strength.
