would like to have this confirmed, but my Verizon store said it is free until May at which time you will be charged $20. In other words, they said, we would have to call Verizon to have this feature disabled or we will automatically be charged the $20 in May. I find it hard to believe they will automatically charge the fee. Does anyone else have information on this?

Sneaky if they counted that move as a plan change and forced you into tiered pricing. Maybe cancel now if you never plan to use it.

Just turn it on - It's a full featured MIFI like hot-spot. Love it but not sure I will continue at $20++ after May.
