The Verizon HTC One M7 was pretty quickly rooted and then the bootloader was unlocked pretty soon thereafter. Verizon has been pretty tyrannical when it comes to their bootloader and root policy. Even though they require OEMs to lock down devices securely before releasing them to users on their network developers have been pretty resourceful at hacking and cracking most devices. Samsung devices and even the LG G3 have been notably difficult and even impossible to crack. The HTC phones, M7 and M8 have each received bootloader unlock thanks to Justin Case and TheRoot.Ninja.
