Verizon Droid X replacement

So I went to Verizon today because my X is randomly rebooting and has some pixel problems when on camera or camcorder mode but not the actual screen itself. I have had the phone less than 30 days meaning I get a "brand new" replacement. Now i was told that my replacement will be out of box with no battery or back cover but was assured it is going to be a brand new phone and they are doing this to speed up the replacement process. Sounds kind of sketchy to me anybody else encounter this?

My friend had called for a replacement 2 weeks ago. They sent him a completely new device in an enclosed box never touched. It just seems kind of sketchy they are now sending a brand new phone but stripped of the battery, backing, and original packaging.
