USB Not recognized (Stratosphere to PC)

I can't seem to be able to get my Stratosphere to connect to my PC (Win XP). I tried using Pdanet and choosing "debugging" but I still get the "USB device not recognized". I'm using the USB from my old Blackberry, could that be the issue? I tried different USB ports and turning on/off the phone with the same results. Any advice?

Problem solved. I grabbed another USB cable and it connected immediately, than I was prompted by Verizon to install updated driver software. All is well.
