Updating Droid Incredible to 2.2

Verizon is now offering the Incredible for $0.00 for those who upgrade and sign a 2 year contract. The salesman said some phones have 2.2, some don't so if we happen to get one with 2.1, we can download 2.2 for free right away on the phone.

Is this accurate? Thanks.

yeah, sounds about right. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to upgrade to 2.2 immediately.

I just bought my phone on ebay, and didn't know that 2.2 was available until I read this post. My phone had 2.1 update1 on it, and when I checked for updates, sure enough, there was 2.2, ready for download/installation.

Your phone will automatically update to 2.2 with no problems.
