Update version 2.2 for Galaxy S - Fascinate

Traded my x for the fascinate...even without 2.2. I still like this phone better. Its all on preference, coming on this forum talking about the x won't convince any normal person who researches what to get. I had the x for a little under 30 days, and though its a terrific phone, the clunkiness of it just wasnt for me. Many people who have the x feel the same way.

Did you complain to Verizon and they gave you an X? I've had three fascinates in three months and wish they would offer me something else...

All other galaxyS got froyo...why verizon one hasn't updated yet? Is it because samsung or verizon? What can we do?

We can't do anything but wait unless you want to root and flash. I think that since Samsung has already released open source code for 2.2, it's vzw's fault for not releasing it for fascinate on timely manner. Even if Samsung is building the software, vzw is the one that tests it and releases it via ota

Just got OTA update. Seattle WA.

8pened!

edit.........

phone is booting through update. the verizon screen is currently playing and its more consistent with the frames per sec cause its pretty smooth.

edit2..........

gps is still taking a bit to locate but the most accurate i have seen.
soft keys are lit for screen time out.
music pauses when unplugged.
calendar alert is changeable.

and it says DL09 but still with 2.1 update 1.

BTW, i did check for update.
hope i helped.

Installed the update and the GPS seems to have been fixed it located right away. I too checked for the update. It also looks like Innopath was removed. It's no longer on my desktop and when I go to the system updates in the settings it's gone from there as well.

I'm noticing a weird crosshair with signal consistant with GPS on. Is that normal other droids?

8pened!

That crosshair appeared on the blackberry storm when you would turn location services on (for GPS) so it appears that location has been set to and left "on" by this update.
