Update failed???

Hey first post but longtime viewer.

I just received the update this morning and I've been getting update failed.
Im rooted and overclocked running stock rom, I also got rid of the bloatware using TB.

It downloads fine but once it installs it gets a quarter of the way through the boot thing before the picture of the droid and the caution sign.

Any help would be greatly appriciated and if the problem is the bloatware that I removed, I have no backups of them. Thanks, nick

Need more information what phone model. What update are you talking about? If your router you shouldn't get any updates. Not otas anyway

sent from my refrigerator I'm hungry

Rule #1. Always back up everything. I don't know if a factory reset will fix it for you or not.

I got the 2.3.20 update this morning also. I am also rooted and deoxed running stock with htc black notification bar. Droid 2 is my current phone. I download the update then click install now. Phone reboots and goes to the screen with android and box. It gets about half way done then the box turns into a triangle with an exclamation point. The phone reboots again then takes me to Clockwork recovery menu. Reboot my phone again and then it says update failed. Any ideas? Please Help! Thanks

If you have a backup restore to that. Since your rooted and modified the system its probably looking for a file that is not there. If you don't have a backup run the sbf and try to apply the update.

Is there a way I can manully apply the update, like a dedoxed version using the stock recovery loader?

This worked perfect! Restored to my stock backup and it installed correctly. Thing is I lost 'su' but still got the superuser icon in my app drawer.

What apps did I need that I deleted like city id or something? Could someone post the the preloaded apps so I could re download them since I don't have a backup?

The /system/app folder is where all the apps that are preloaded are. Except for need for speed shift that is in data
