unsubscribe from threads

I was just wondering if there was a way to unsubscribe from the threads, I always for get to opt out of it. Is there away to automatically do that? So that way everytime I post something I don't get 100 emails

In the user cp or from the thread choose thread tools just above the op on the right side and choose unsubsribe from thread.
