It *may* be possible. Like I posted yesterday on a different thread - In 2007, I came to Verizon from Sprint and was able to keep using a Motorola Razr I had purchased from Sprint, on the Verizon system. That phone was a non smartphone, but it worked perfectly on Verizon for three years - the point that I acquired my first Droid.
Comparing that scenario to yours may be a case of "apples to oranges", but it's certainly worth looking into, as long as the carrier your considering is Sprint, or uses CDMA. Don't give up without at least checking.
I believe that to move a smart phone to Verizon it has to be in their system. You can however flash a droid to one of the cheaper cdma carriers like metro pcs, or cricket. Im not sure about sprint though. Also your droid will not work with at&t or t-mobile as they are gsm networks.
Thanks for the info peeps. I am leaving verizon and had heard all the bad news but i figured id ask n see if there had been any new breakthroughs. Really missing my hacked droid!
Unfortunately no. ATT which really sucks. i will get another droid soon however. I was playing in Germany and fighting with the ex and it totally ran up my bill. So itll take me a while to pay it down. For the moment thogh ill have to do ATT.
