I remember reading on this a long time ago and I think it requires infrared which I know the droid one doesn't have, im sure the other android phones don't have it either. Due to that its impossible.

Yes, there is on-star and there is a new Viper alarm that was just released that will allow this (android and iphone apps). You will be paying a monthly service though....but you can unlock/lock arm/disarm start your car from pretty much anywhere.

An app by itself isn't going to be a suitable solution. Something needs to interface the app to your car's locks. You'd need an alarm system that supports Viper Smart Start or something similar.

where? best buy qouted 600 after labor and parts. I think Ima source my own parts, get a compatible viper alarm/remote start and get the module that allows smart start.

I already had a remote start, so I did not need the bypass module. That's why mine was 499 installed. Yes, Best Buy installed it.

which remote start did you get? from what I gathered, you can only use Viper remote starts so they can then install the SmartStart module which cost 199.99 plus install. So that means (by what i read on the site) that for 499, if you had a remotestart before then they just installed the module.

No, it was the total package. Remote start, door ulock, and security. All for $499.
