Unistalling apps

I'm trying to uninstall an app I don't use and I've tried going through the app market and menu<settings<applications and either way the app will not get off the phone!! Please help!

As the previous poster asked but didn't explain... if the app came with your phone you probably won't be able to uninstall it... thank your phone manufacturer...
 
juliesmail, some applications that are preinstalled on the phone can only be removed by rooting the phone and uninstalling with a third-party app like Titanium Backup. Which app are you trying to remove?
 
yeah, which app is it? If it was on the phone out of the box, then you're stuck with it unless u root. The other option is to disable its updates. Like if u want to use the Native Facebook app instead of HTC's Facebook For Sense, then just go to the latter's options, disable its sync, disable the updates, and turn off its notifications. Boom, like it never existed. The VZW version of Skype is worse than the original, so I disabled it.
