There are a few places you can clear cache. I would do Contacts storage and either the Contacts or People app. It depends on what version of Android you have running. That usually does the trick.

I had the same issue. I read on here that Google + is causing it. Once I disabled Google +, the problem went away.

Can you boot in to recovery and clear cache from there?

Weird. I have had this issue when flashing custom ROMs on my phone, but just not out of the blue. Did you just update to 5.0 LP?

updated to LP 5.0 about 2 weeks ago.....it's my wife's phone and she said it's worked fine since then and about 2 hours ago she tried to make a call it started getting this error.
