Unable to copy paste text

so far I have managed to unlock and root my phone, flash a rom and several other mods. However I have no idea how to get text copied to the clipboard? I am able to manually select my text, and it says "entering copy mode" after text is selected, I am unable to copy it.... Any insight? Thanks in advance

I checked real quick in two apps Gmail and native Browser. With both of them, once the text was selected there was an small icon that appears to be two pages overlapping one another. Pressing that icon put the selected text in the clipboard.

Sure enough! I I was trying to copy in touchdown exchange mail. That icon did appear. I appreciate you taking the time to find that.
