tv out cable

I have found a couple cables that connect via the micro usb to vga on your tv. I am interested in purchasing the cable to watch movies from my phone onto my tv. I am curious if it is worth trying the cable or if the picture will become signifigantly distorted on the tv. My tv isn't that large only a 32 inch tv. Thanks for the insight
