Turn off email?

I downloaded K9 Email and it works. How do you turn off the stock email so that it doesn't check for mail also? Thanks! Steve

A phone model would be helpful

but it is probably something like this...open the stock email, go to settings, email check frequency, never

Sorry...just updated profile. It's a Moto Droid, unrooted.
OK, did that but the settings carry over to K9 and it never checks. Hmmm.

I don't use K9, is there not a different set of settings within the K9 app
