First of all, i'm sorry maybe i'm reviving a dead subject but i need to get an answer, im new in this android thing so, i've finally get my own android device, it's a Motorola Droid X2 whit 2.3.3 android, the thing is that i want to play Clash of Clans and i cant cause my android version, i need to have 4.1.x to play it, i've been trying for two days now to update it but i can't when i use System Recovery or Bootstrap Recovery the process goes good till i try to install the new android version.. When i'ts installing it sends me this:

Finding update package...
opening Update package..
Installing update...
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/check_kernel") == 0
E:error in /sdcard/Update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted

My Cellphone i'ts rooted i do factory reset and wipe cache before start the installation from the sd card but doesnt work anyways, i've been trying with Rom manager, rom installer, bootstrap recovery, system recovery but nothing and i use the app that say if you have your phone rooted and i have superuser and i gave the permission to the apps to reboot in recovery.. I'll be waiting for response and sorry again if its a dead subject.

Welcome to the forum. To the best of my knowledge, you will need to return your phone to 100% stock to get the latest update. Since you are rooted, you also have the option to search for a custom ROM that will allow you to play your game.

The latest update for the x2 is only android 2.3.5.

You will need to install cm9 or cm10. You can't simply flash a new android version in recovery. You need the x2 bootstrap and the ROM. Just note that because the x2 is locked, not everything works on these Roms because of the gingerbread kernel. You have to decide if functionality is more important than your game.

Head over to droidxforums.com.
We have guides and links in the x2 section.

Edit: and you will need to be on 2.3.4 to install either of those Roms.
