I dropped my Droid & the screen shattered and I will have my replacement phone tomorrow. Is there any way to salvage the apps that I paid for & transfer them to the new phone? I have apps that have data that I don't want 2 lose or re-input. Anybody know of any options here?

Your apps are connected to your gmail account, not the phone. So after you enter your gmail info in your good.

What's "rooted"?

Thanks for your replies! I've been out of town and I'm just now switching my phone over so I hope everything goes smoothly. What does being rooted mean?

Transfer your SDcard into the new droid, Login to gmail and you'll have everything back (paid apps) then DL you free ones.....

OK, what if the new droid does not have an sd card (nexus) and also, what if an app is no longer available in the market, but the app still works on the old phone?
