touchscreen freezing

just got a new DX2 last month and touchscreen is freezing during texting. will Verizon fix it or exchange it?

i am embarrased to say i dont know how to reboot the phone. can anyone help me?

No need to be embarrassed at all! Just turn the phone off then back on. If that doesn't help, try pulling the battery for 30 seconds and then powering it back up (soft reboot).
