Total Manufacturing Cost of IPAD

Let's add in advertising, shipping, support and the price goes up a bit BUT Apple will still make a few bucks. Nothing wrong with that, that's why Steve had it built.
I wonder what the total manufacturing cost of the Droid is?

...and the Droid costs something like $180, with a retail price of like $600.

Profit =/= (manufacturing cost) - (retail cost)

subsidizing the phone will even out the cost in the long run, which is why moto/vzw is pushing so hard to advertise for it. it wasn't that long ago that these smart phones didn't sell enough to even think about subsidizing. the original Treos and WinMo phones still cost consumbers over $500 if they wanted one.

the iPad is made with alot of existing technology in a large package. it's not hard to keep costs down in such a device. apple is turning into Nintendo, imo.

Yes there was an article about the Droid being the most valuable smartphone in my news and weather widget
The Droid was slightly more expensive to manufacture than the N1, mostly because of the 16GB SD Card that comes standard. If you take out the cost of SD cards, the Droid is slightly cheaper than the N1.
