Top 10 Ripoffs...

I was watching the news thismorning, and they were listing the top 10 ripoffs/miseading on internet related isssues, right after #1) Freecreditreport.com came in sms messages, and how companies are charging tons for them when they dont cost anything for the company to handle... makes ya go hmmm..

My favorite scam is the "On line PC Scan"... you know, go to a website, they "scan" your PC, and after a few minutes of "scanning" they report that your computer has viruses, spyware, and adware, pop ups, and other assorted things on it, and for 49.95, or similar, they will "remove" all of the offending problems.... So, you pay them the 49.95, and they instruct you to download the "removal tool", which is really a program that does little more than repeat the "scanning" activity, and pronounces your computer clean, when all they have done is taken you for 49.95....

My other favorite is the "let (insert web site here) make you millions while you sleep". The commercials claim you can make a "six figure" income, if you follow their "simple, proven, formula for success" and most of these sites are little more than pyramid schemes...

SMS messages are still an added feature that the company doesn't have to offer. Its just business; charge people for addons. Besides, unlimited texts doesn't actually cost that much.

But on the subject of ripoffs: that AB belt you just wear anytime and it gives you a 6pack.... and Zicam, enough said.

the iPad... it's packing the same cpu/gpu (Arm8 Cortex CPU) as the iPhone (same as droid also), and the same OS...
