Tone question and case question

OK, so on speaker phone the key tones sound horribly loud and distorted. Can the volume or tone be changed?...how?

2nd, i know there's a case thread and I did post there but it's not frequently travelled. Theres a great looking S View case on amazon cheap w/free shipping. If the phone wasnt IP67 I'd jump on it immediately, but I'm worried. I've already gone in the water with my phone this summer. The case does show the gasket on the back, but like I said, I'm worried.
