Makes sense. I was waiting for the sonic boom. But from what I understand, they usually don't do that over a populated area

It is illegal for them to bust the sound barrier over land....Navy rules are 30,000 feet high or 30 miles away from land....per @Mike.757

Being an air force brat I got to see a lot of air shows and hang with the pilots and planes.

They put on an awesome show.

I get to watch the Blue Angels practice on the regular. Those pilots are nuts!

I have seen both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels live. I saw the Thunderbirds at Dyess AFB when I was stationed there. I saw the Blue Angels at Thunder Over Louisville.

I saw the airshow at Thunder Over Louisville before sequestration took place. It was awesome.
