The new car home is even uglier than the last one

The new 2.2 car home is even uglier than the last one, if that is possible.

How do I disable it without tearing the magnet out of my car dock?

There used to be apps that were able to change what happened when you put it in a dock (both of them). Say you wanted pandora to open instead of car home, it would allow that. Something like Locale Dock Condition - Android app on AppBrain <-- but I don't remember it being tied to Locale or Tasker, because I only had Locale for a little bit when it was free. Maybe someone remembers the app if it is still working, although Locale or Tasker should definitely be able to do this especially with a plugin like the one I linked to.
