Hi ..new 'thinking of getting a Droid if I can afford it' poster.

I just want direction and then I will read and learn.

It looks as if Verizon wants to soak someone any chance they get.

I wish to use a Droidx, using the hotspot feature to gain web access for my 2 desktops and one laptop.

I know the fees (I think) ??

Can an unlocked phone help me in avoiding some or all of these extra link up fees?

Note ..I am a pretty good tinker..er; software and such. Thanks.

Yes, a Rooted Device can obtain multiple goals that an unrooted one cannot, wireless tethering being one of them

I did read here that Verizon is ..blocking / not allowing wireless tethering.

Any workaround there known? ...OR is there a STICKY I am missing that would cover all this?
