Whether you love or hate Apple we would not be on this forum if it was not for them. The iPhone not only changed how we view phones but with it created rivalries which we are benefitting from right now.

The Verge have a fb live video of an interview with some of the people who help bring this together and you get to hear their story. After watching the video I found myself amazed that the iPad actually came first.

I don't know. I think this forum would be around. Apple was not the first smartphone and I think smartphones would have taken off eventually even if the iphone did not exist.
