He pees right away. It's the poop that sometimes requires 3 tries in the cold. Fortunately we have a fenced in backyard so I'm not going on long walks along the street. We have a lot of bears and other critters roaming the neighborhood, so I never go out on the street with him after dark. He's tiny, only 7 lbs, and the local bears are said to attack small barking dogs along the neighborhood.

That's why I don't go out at night, here we have a bunch of old cougars roaming the neighborhood.
