If you were looking to pick up one of the best values in an Android tablet this holiday season, then you probably want to check out this offer on Newegg. The EVGA Tegra Note 7 is the first (and currently only) Tegra 4 powered Android tablet available. At a price of just $199.99, the power and features of this little tablet might shock you.

Here's a recap:

  • NVIDIA's Tegra 4 SoC, (This is the same ultra-fast processor and GPU combo found in the NVIDIA Shield)
  • 7-Inch 720p Display
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB of storage
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 1.3MP front-facing cam
  • Android 4.2.2 at launch
  • An integrated stylus
  • Dual front-facing speakers
  • MicroHDMI port
While the amount of RAM is a bit low, and the display isn't true HD like many of the newer tabs, the graphics prowess of the Tegra 4 could rival some desktop PCs. This tab is obviously built with gamers in mind, but at this price point it should attract more than just gamers.

Seriously, what's the point in a Tegra 4 of you don't have enough memory to run resource intensive programs

Tapped from my G2

Round on the end, "Hi" in the middle.
Looks sweet next to the Toshiba Excite, but 2GB ram and if it's really for gamers it needs 32Gb or 64GB internal memory. A couple games will fill that memory. Stylus seems cool, though.

I would consider this device as a good challenger to the Nexus 7. This has the "S-Pen" I believe it's called, not sure, but the pen allows for different applications of the line, from thin to thick. Having 1 Gig of ram does not keep it from playing graphic intensive games, it only limits it's multitasking abilities.

Having an SDCARD is a big plus.

I'm curious enough to check this device out. :nerd: Although with a starting price point of $200 I imagine it'll start to drop within the next few months.

FYI: While I'm sure some already know this, for anyone who may not know the Developer Options are hidden by default on the Tegra Note 7 tablet. To reveal the options go to About Tablet and tap Build number several times. You'll see a toast saying you're almost a developer with the number of times you need to tap to unhide the dev options menu.

:woot: I got ROOT!:yeahbaby01:... My Tegra Note 7 is ROOTED!
