Texting From Your PC

Does anyone know of an app I can use to text from my PC without picking up my phone if it's plugged into my PC? I know that PDA Net offeres a feature like that but from my experience it sucked and I also wouldn't be able to use my computers other internet.

Verizon has a text messaging service that is free. They give you a little template and you just fill in the phone number you are sending it to and the text message.

Not exactly what you're asking for but I use Google Voice for this. Don't even need the phone.
