Text to Speech in Navigator

Is there a way to disable the reading of street names in the Nav? Mine no longer speaks the names, just says "turn left", "turn right". I have Svox on but even with switching back to Google voice it still doesn't read street names. Or did Google change the Nav?

mine started doing the same thing and even a new voice from what I recall.

There is another thread on this. It's the google nav program. There is a problem coordinating the latest update of maps with android 4.0.2. A lot of people have been complaining about this on a google discussion board.
