Street Name Announcements in Navigation 6.6.0

After the latest update to Maps (6.6.0), I'm no longer getting street name announcements while navigating. Instead of saying "turn left onto main street", I just get "turn left". If I uninstall the latest update to maps, the street names work again.

I checked my D2G and it still has working street name announcements with the latest version of maps. I don't know anyone else with a Nexus/ICS, is anyone else experiencing this problem? I've tried uninstalling updates, re-installing, wiping maps cache/data... no luck.

I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed this. Google must have done this by design, but I can't figure out why. I don't like it.

Not sure why they would remove this feature from ICS handsets and not others. Reports from other GNex users are starting to come in at the Google discussion group site so hopefully the maps people will take a look at it soon.

and it looks like there a number of Nexus users experiencing this problem. Kind of surprised that more people aren't chiming in on this board!
