Text notifications not coming thru earphones?

When I receive a text with the earphones connected the notifications come out of the phone and not through the earphones. Is there a setting I am missing to make this happen?

After putting headphones in hold power button and hit mute. Or there is an app called SoundAbout that will let you control this.

Thanks for responding ( at least someone did ) --- I tried Soundabout Pro w/o success. I think this might be a Samsung design specific issue after Googling the problem and reading other posts. I am surprised more ppl don't complain.

You would think so. Most annoying.

There was a recent update to soundabout specifically for the note 2 and s3. I have not tried it.

Seems to be an issue across many phones and been that way for a long time. But not universal.
