text not vibrating

i have sound and vibration checked in ringtones and notifications under sound settings and my phone doesnt vibrate when i receive a text/email. i have tried changing the vibration intensity/pattern but it doesnt seem to make a difference. it will vibrate for calls however. any idea whats goin on? thanks.

Open up the messaging app. Go to Menu -> Settings -> scroll down towards the bottom to the Notifications settings. Tap Vibrate, and then select the option you want.

Depending on what email app you're using, you can also adjust the vibrate for notifications in the individual app settings as well if the messaging setting doesn't take care of it.
