Text Mexico Free?

I heard there was some sort of app that linked your number to another to send text messages for free to Canada and Mexico. Is this true? If so what is the name and how would you rate it? THANKS!

I can't provide you with an the name of an app but I can tell you that earlier this month I was in Canada. Prior to traveling, I spoke with a VZW customer service rep. He told me that,while in Canada, I would be able to sent and receive texts with no additional costs.

I was also told what mike says by Verizon before I left and now that I'm here it won't send or receive on roaming. Any ideas? I've even turned data back on and still nothing.
