text messages being sent but I am not sending them!

My mother received a text message (like a "pick up") and it said it was coming from my phone. She called me and asked me if I texted her to be funny and I told her no and that she needed to send a reply text to that number and let them no they were sending to a wrong number. She did.
I GOT THE TEXT!
What the heck is going on?????

I told her to save the text that she received so I could look at it when I visited a few days later. She did but the message somehow disappeared and she did not delete it!!!
