i have a thunderbolt with verizon, and i can't seem to find the link to skype that allows my front faced cam to work properly. #help

... It won't work until gingerbread... It says on the website, in the market, and in the app. Not to mention it has been brought up many, many times.

you can use a app called tango free in the market works better than skype

The only problem with that is that you then have to convince all your friends to get tango to to actually use it
