Yep... long press your home icon and you'll see the apps you have running, swipe left or right to clear them. ..
I still don't suggest any 3rd part app killers... but it is your device, do as you see fit

Thats how its done now? With just a swipe?
I would use smart actions. Any other task killer could cause connectivity issues.
Other than to kill your data at night, smart actions also has battery extender, which would help you during the day as well .
Ics does a good job of managing memory so no task manager is needed otherwise
