Syncing Calendar with Ical

For some reason i am when i enter a appointment in ical it will sync with my phone no problem. but when ever i try to enter an appointment on my phone not only it does not show up it also deletes the appointment from the phone. can someone please help.

I have the same problem but I had it with the Droid also. Someone told me to back up everything first then delete it all out and start fresh. Sync everything from ical to google calendar first. I haven't done it yet.
