Switching numbers between phones..

I just upgraded to the droid family...got a Motorola Droid for myself and the Eris Droid for my father...however the VZ employee accidentally put my dads number on the Motorola.

He quickly apologized, but then told us I can call verizon after 24 hours to swap the numbers between the phones. Do I really have to wait 24 hours, or can I immediately call VZ and just switch.

i would just call and try to switch it

i dont see any reason why it would take 24 hours to get everything set up

but tech support is only open during normal business hours (if im not mistaken)

It was about a year ago, but my wife and I were able to get that straightened out by calling when we got home (not waiting a day). Though I was pissed that they didn't do it right at the store in the first place. But yeah... We didn't have to wait that long.
