Switching batteries

Say I were to buy a 2nd battery for my droid so that I can switch in another one when the other dies. When I remove the battery, will this cause any loss of data/functionality of the Droid? Is this even a feasible option? Thanks.

no, just make sure to turn it off first. Dont just pull it out while the phone is on. Even that wouldent harm the phone but its just a precaution so you dont loose anything that wasnt saved yet.

What if you had the phone plugged in? Would you be able to change the battery without shutting down the phone? Just curious.

I have NOT had success with that.

I know the boot up time sucks! But the phone does a lot during that time...
