Sure sucks you still can't play .wav voice messages from email

Here where i work, when we get a phone call and they leave a message it get's sent to us in a email. Well, Droid wouldn't play these messages. I was hopping with the new 2.2 it would.....:( but no go....

Say what??? We use Cisco IP phones and have them set up the same way. I've been able to listen to the attached .wav files in emails since before 2.1 man. Might wanna get your phone looked at.

So when you get the message, you go into the Email app, open the message, press on the .wav attachment at the bottom and it doesn't play?

Yeah this is a known issue. It happened to me too after the 2.2 update. Before 2.2 I could open wav file attachments in gmail that came from my vonage account in the default music player. After the update, it stopped working. I am able to download the wav file and open it in RockPlayer, but thats a hassle.

No kiddin! I guess I spoke too soon. How could the Froyo update be so awesome and yet contain such a screwup? Yeah they seriously need to fix this ASAP. Cmon Google!

I thought that this was working for me but not sure so I sent a .wav attachment to myself on two different email accounts. The one to my Gmail account came and had a 'preview' button. Pressed that and the .wav played thru the stock player just fine. I use K-9 mail for the other account i sent it to and again when i press 'open' it played thru the stock player. I'm on OTA Froyo.

I am running the manually installed FRG01B (the big file). I just emailed myself a .wav file. In Mail I clicked on the attachment where it says "Open" and it asked me if I want to use Music or MixZing. I chose Music. It played just fine.

Nothing wrong with Froyo.

Edit: OK...maybe I should not say "Nothing Wrong with Froyo"...but this is not a Froyo issue.
