Chainfire was very quick to release boot-to-root file that rooted the Pixel XL. Root was available for the Pixel series only days after its official release. The only problem with the initial release of SuperSU for the Pixel was a nagging bug which caused the systemUI to crash once the battery hits 15%. This actually happened to me and I didn't know what was going on. I panicked and wiped data which didn't fix the issue, so I relocked my bootloader which caused my phone to stop booting. From there I started researching and saw where Chainfire had updated the SuperSU and specifically addressed this problem.

I was able to unlock my bootloader and simply put my phone on the charger to solve the issue. You can boot the new boot-to-root image to fix this systemui crash issue on your device. Grab the new updated SuperSU from the link below.
