Subwoofer Enthusiasts Pics/Info

Well I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who enjoys subwoofers and the car audio scene? I am trying to make my way into the sub world and I do enjoy music. Might recognize me from "post your weathers pics" but finding new music and hearing it beat through the subs is always a satisfying feeling. If anyone would like to post pics, info, or questions please feel free to do so. I hope this can be a widely used thread for people with subwoofer questions or for people that just want to show off their personal system.

Some of my top bass songs are:
USDA: White girl
Gucci Mane: Swing My Door
Wiz Khalifa: On My Level
Webbie: Six 12's
Webbie: Thuggin'
Webbie: Full of Dat stuff
Big Sean: Smoke n' Drive

I am running an Autotek SM2-1200 amp on 2 12" Q Power subs. If you have any questions go right on and ask.

Whats up there run. Reppin Rocky Mount here and I bet 2 L7's hit hard in that canyon. The song "put on" has always been a hard hitter. What kind of amp are you running?

Im on a 97' Chevy Tahoe. Its that car that i'll always keep haha. The Class D amps are starting to pave the way for the audio world. Got a video on youtube of the 12's hitting. Im under the same screen name on youtube as i am here if you want to check it out.

Yeahhh I know those subs pound hard in that tahoe. Yeah its my second class D amp I probably won't go back to any other class for subs but yeah I'm goin to go check the vids out

I will eventually upgrade to a bigger harder hitting system but it will work for now. There is going to be a pretty nice lil car show at "wilson stereo & sound" if you haven't heard of it. Gonna have some sick systems there for sure

What are u thinking about upgrading to?? Do you have any info on that car show dates etc. My cousin/roommate would Def take a little trip down the way, he has 2 l7s also in a blazer

@SGT: I know that stang is poundin. Acoustics pretty good in the car?

@run: The date of the show is July 2nd and since that's my hometown I was thinkin bout showin up. The owner of that store also owns the store "Auto Phonics" here in rocky mount and he is going to have his Astro van at the show with something like 12 15's in it. That's gonna be a main attraction but ppl in Eastern NC have some hard hittin systems. Both stores have good staff and have reasonable prices too. Ill prolly be upgrading to 2 18's w/ 4000W and I'm looking to go with MTX when I upgrade more than likely. Not anytime soon but within a few years hopefully. I know everything is prolly vibrating in that blazer aint it?

@sgt that's unbelievable that this comps push more than the w7s bc they pound, set us up with a tracklist

@252 I'm going to look into going to that sound off I I always try to go to ones close to the house..when u upgrade its going to be ridiculously loud...louder the better. But yeah the blazer is bumping pretty nice he just got 2 more l7s last week but he hasn't got a box built yet for all four

I am running an Alpine head unit, Pioneer speakers, a Kenwood mono amp pushing an MTX 10 in a slot ported box at the moment.

Have a Kenwood Excelon head unit in the mail right now. I drive an 02 GMC Sierra single cab, so space is tight. If I can convince myself to give up some legroom, I'll probably get 2 12's. I have a Pioneer 2 channel amp sitting in the closet, so when I get a distribution block and some thicker gauge wiring, I'll amp my door speakers.

I have to say though, my overpowered MTX 10 hits pretty hard, definitely beats my buddy's Accord with 2 10's.

For music, Limp Bizkit hits pretty hard.

@run: when i do upgrade it'll def find any loose screws haha but your cousin going to try to turn the blazer into a comp truck?

@sgt: Anyway to put those tracks into a .zip file? if not a track list would be great like Run said. Thanks in advance

@brad: The Excelon head is it the touch unit? Kenwood makes some good products pretty much all around. I imagine an overpowered MTX does sound good pared with Pioneer high's. That 2 channel will make things sound good tho. Bridging a 2 channel amp can cause some heat issues but nothing really to worry about as long as there is some air moving across the fins on the amp. System sounds like that Sierra is gonna be soundin right for a while. What kind of amp you running? Sometimes the number of subs doesnt matter but its the power source that makes all the difference. Limp does hit and it also brings through some of the high's.

What are the dims for a box that small to fit in there??

The box is pretty shallow. Its like 4 inches top depth and 6 inches bottom depth. Its around 15 inches tall, but its very wide. I am just going off memory on the dimensions, I have had it for over 2 years.

The main thing for me was leg room. I needed all the leg room I could get as I have long legs. I didn't sacrifice any leg room at all.

Chevy's are small on the inside anyway. If you have an F150 or Dodge, you could fit 12's easily without sacrificing room. My cousin -in law has 2 12's in his 03 single cab Ram.
