Stuck rebooting from OTA. Help!

Fusarium

I've got an HTC Thunderbolt that I have been using for over a year now. I rooted it and have enjoyed it, but a recent OTA has made my phone a piece of garbage...

The OTA successfully downloaded and is trying to install. Every time I turn my phone on, it boots fine, waits about 30 seconds, then reboots. Upon reboot, it tries to install the update, which fails every time.

Obviously, this reboot loop is giving me much frustration.

I have tried clearing the cache and a factory reset both to no avail.

Any tips? Ideas??

Many thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, and others please correct me if I'm wrong, I believe you have to go back to stock everything and then re-root. Start with the stock recovery by placing it on your sd card and calling it the PG44IMG.zip (or whatever it is), then removing it and putting the stock OTA on. That should get you out of loop. It's an inconvenience for sure, but there's a reason why you never accept an OTA while rooted  I just downloaded the rooted version of the newest OTA 605.9 I believe and it's working like a champ for me, and I'm getting better 4g with the new radio that came with it too
