Hello everyone,

Decided to finally try rooting and putting a custom ROM on my Droid 2 today. Rooting went fine, but when I tried to install Epic Unleashed 2.5 something went wrong. Thought I followed the steps correctly but I might have messed up deleting the cache after or something... Tried wiping data/cache from the standard recovery afterward, since I couldn't get it to boot into clockwork, but no luck.

Got RSD lite 4.8 and tried using that to flash an sbf, but I'm not sure I have the right sbf or anything as it doesn't seem to have had any effect. Looked at the instructions to un-root the phone with RSD lite, but the sbf it suggested to download is a corrupt archive.

I'm using windows, so the linux recovery file fix is a pretty big leap for me.

So right now I have a phone that endlessly boots to the Epic logo, then doesn't do anything. I can get to the boot loader and RSD lite seems to work with it, or I can go to the standard recovery menu, but those seem to be my only options right now. I've been searching the web trying things for a couple hours now, but no luck.

Any ideas?

just flashed, unless it plans to recover from the M it's been sitting on for 10 mins, I have a brick

edit: anyone flash successfully? wonder if it's something I've done wrong myself.

edit again: For anyone that wants an easy SBF... credit to p3droid on My Droid World and TBH for the following:

FULL SBF file ----> http://www.multiupload.com/R6VS5FFISB

RSDLite 4.8 ----> http://www.multiupload.com/HL0ZAL9GK8

Moto Connect 4.71 USB Drivers ----> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7632904/USB_Drivers_bit_4.7.1.zip

Full thread can be found here: http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...rld-present-droid-2-2-3-20-triple-threat.html

This is the first time I've ever flashed an SBF successfully, and everything is the right version, even the SBF, SOOO Easy, any questions PM me.

3rd edit: I've flashed this version twice now and it stuck on the M both times, I guess there's something wrong with my recovery, I sbf'd/activated/rooted/bootstrapped/recovered/flashed new version. I'm going to try sbf/activate/root/bootstrap/flash and not recover now.

4th edit: It was either a problem with my recovery or having cache mounted. I was able to successfully flash after SBFing and rooting/bootstrapping stock. Although now I have to recover again because I forgot to backup some apps with Titanium Backup and I forgot to backup my Keepass Password Database, guess after I do that I'll be SBFing again, factory resetting, rooting, bootstrapping, and finally flashing this version and then import my apps, phew. For the life of me I can't figure out what's wrong with my recovery. It reboots fine, but when I flashed new version it soft bricked (stuck on the M) both times from the previous squid version. All I can say is thank God for SBF, rsdlite, motorola drivers, p3droid, my droid world, tbh, and most importantly SQUIDLY!

Here's my experience and expertise.

Turns out, I had a good sbf, I just needed to run the program as an admin >_<

Thank you so much for your help Captain! I actually read your thread before and was using that info!

Team black hat definitely saved the day with those files, I had a corrupt sbf before and had to get a warranty replacement device, I just thought I was bricked, turns out all I needed was the correct software

I think someone should completely close the Epic sub-forum for now, at least until Matt decides to take on Android again.
