stopping ringing

I am a fairly new comer to the droid but I do have a question?

1. When my droid gets a txt, it plays the ringtone that I made, but the real problem that I have is that I can not stop the sound. The whole song has to play out! Is there a way to stop it!

what do you mean it plays the whole song? did you make a ringtone from the song then assign that? use ringdroid from the market to make ringtones if you dont' have another program on your computer. it works great
