What setting can I use to stop new updates. Running droid 2 rooted with no roms or themes

How about Liberty? I would take the plunge if it would stop updates. I use tethering and don’t want to lose my root.

I believe you can go into titanium and freeze market updater. That should do the trick.

ah....I see.....I prefer my phone to tell me so I can get GB when it comes out. Even though I will most likely flash back to Liberty. I still want to try it out ASAP.

Anybody else have any thoughts. I fear the update will be here soon and I don’t want to be left with my pants down. LOL (will this get me ban) hope not as I read through all the new post every day.

BTW--i checked and didn't see the answer before posting.

Im pretty sure my method works. It has for me anyway. And if you decide you want the update just unfreeze and go into settings, about phone and check for new updates.

I tried to freeze it and it said something like. I had to have the paid version- -guess I had better buy it

Yeah, you can only freeze with the paid version but I highly recommend it. You can also freeze bloatware and later if you decide to get an update you don't have to reinstall all those missing apps, just defrost them.

Why would you want to freeze all updates? That isn't really a great idea if you ask me. Reason why is because a lot of apps you use are in different versions and may have bugs, issues, and most of all will probably end up seeing the dev(s) drop support for certain versions you are currently using. I wouldn't freeze all updates. I don't know if you can manually freeze a specific update just so you can try GB. Makes no sense to me.

Oh, alright. Just sounded like he was talking about freezing all updates, which to me sounded like OTA updates AND all the apps update too. My bad.
