Any good guesses how this will affect the Bionic and/or Android as a whole?

Perhaps he knows something we don't about Apple and is getting out now?

No idea which but I wouldn't be surprised if it was his health. He said he wants to stay on board but doesn't want the responsibility of being top dog anymore.

I thought he had resigned a long time ago. I'm pretty sure I read about it.

Was under the impression he had resigned before as well.

He seems to be plagued with ailments, but I don't wish that on anyone, hope he's well.

He's going to die and they don't want the stock to plummet.

Why would the resignation of a competitors founder have any impact on a device ready to be shipped and about to release?

He explained his decision to resign to the board during a conference call. Nobody knows the reason he is resigning because every time he tried to tell them, he held his iPhone wrong and the call dropped

I know we are all android people here, but I think we can all agree this is a sad day. No one can deny he started the entire smartphone and tablet craze. Sure, android took his innovation and, as we feel, vastly improved on it, but when the cookie crumbles we owe it to jobs.

I may not agree with his business practices, but I can thank him for pretty much indirectly putting this phone in my hands.

Okay I admit, the iPhone dropped call joke was funny tcayton. But on a serious note, I'm shocked but not surprised. I mean Apple makes great products (you would have to be insane not to admit it). I mean I personally think Apple products are over priced but I love my iPod and I wouldn't mind getting a Macbook sometime. I guess his health really is going down. I wish him the best of luck being on the board and with his health.

It is a bit curious timing though with the next generation iPhone rumored to be launching with the next month or so. Wonder if they want the new CEO to be thrown into the fire right away.
