Status bar symbol

Do any of you know what the "ES" symbol in the status bar stands for? I don't recall seeing it before I installed the Droid 2 keyboard earlier today, but that is probably just a coincidence. I am running Cyanogenmod 8/22 nightly with slayher's 1200LV vet 1.6 kernel on a Droid 1. Thanks in advance.

What happens if you pull down on the notification bar, then tap on that symbol? Anything?

No, it doesn't show up on pull-down menu, but I think I just figured out what it is. On the Droid 2 virtual keyboard, it says "Espanol" on the spacebar. When I slide my finger from left to right across the space bar it changes to "English." It also notifies me on the status bar when it changes. I must've changed it earlier without knowing. I just disabled "Espanol" in the Droid 2 keyboard settings and I haven't seen the icons since.
