Squirrelmail imap problem

Hi Everyone,
Just got the Verizon Motorola Droid and love the phone. I have been trying to setup up my business email using squirrelmail and have succesfully been able to pull emails off of the server (IMAP) but can not send emails through the OUTGOING server. Verizon could not offer any suggestions. Can someone please help me...
